AGbagyi Efelagyi

We desire to straighten the history of AGbagyi, that’s Gbagyi people. Like Chinua Achebe, one of Africa’s greatest writers, we intend to poke at stereotypes, myths, and our image of ourselves and change them through stories —prose, poetry, essays, and branding and writings our children can relate to.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie wrote, “Stories have been used to dispossess and malign. But stories can also be used to empower and to humanize. Stories can break the dignity of a people. But stories can also repair that broken dignity.” We strongly believe this. Moreso because we, as the dominant ethnic group among the aborigines of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja are rarely written about.

Our goal is to write our own stories to empower, humanize and repair our broken dignity.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, in her book, “We Should All Be Feminists,” states that “culture does not make people. People make culture.” We are responsible for AGbagyi culture.

We have observed that we lack entrepreneurial motivation. Why? Entrepreneurship is foreign to us, and we fear taking risks. In the AGbagyi Academy, we equip you to develop the willingness and ability to seek out investment opportunities in your local communities and establish and run businesses successfully based on identified opportunities.

Watch out for the Academy… Meanwhile enjoy our blog.
